SOB, is an independent railway company based in eastern and central Switzerland. Its core business is regional passenger transport. They operate some of the most beautiful connections in Switzerland. These include the long-distance lines Treno Gottardo, Aare Linth, and Alpenrhein-Express, as well as regional transport on the Voralpen-Express and S-Bahn trains. The company operates on almost 300 km of track, 19 tunnels, and over 192 bridges, viaducts, and underpasses and overpasses.
The challenge
With the introduction of the Treno Gottardo, Südostbahn wanted to create a digital marketplace that would enable its partners, among others, to systematically make tourism offers such as mountain railways, museum admissions, or ski tickets available to customers via digital channels. This would be on a direct route between Basel, Zurich, Lucerne, and Ticino. To this end, package deals were to be offered for travel by public transport in combination with leisure activities – in Ticino, for example, excursions to the castles of Bellinzona or the Brissago Islands.
The solution
ressys is the central platform for managing individual and group travel. It acts as an interface to CAPRE, enabling efficient processing of (group) bookings with SBB. Thanks to further integrations with systems such as the Peaksolution web shop, this information can also be retrieved and returned in real time. This makes ressys a flexible and networked solution for modern travel management. And best of all, thanks to the ressys app, train crew also have all the information they need at their fingertips at all times.
The customer benefit
ressys manages all individual and group trips. Interfaces to all common travel and tourism systems such as CAPRE, Peaksolution, or OSDM enable real-time exchange. So it doesn't matter whether travelers make a request/booking directly at a counter or online—they always see up-to-date data and can book their desired seats. The same applies to train attendants, who can use the ressys app to see at any time when which group is boarding, which seats are reserved, and which additional services, such as meals on the go, have been booked.
