The leading trading company with fresh eggs from Swiss production
Ei AG is the leading trader of fresh organic and free-range eggs from Swiss production and supplies the retail trade with 145 million eggs a year. Eggs from organic, free-range and barn eggs from 135 egg producers are checked, sorted and packaged at the company headquarters in Sursee. With a market share of 16 percent, Ei AG is one of the three largest sorting companies in Switzerland, employs 30 people and is strongly committed to sustainable egg production.
The challenge
Food waste is a social problem. Sorting companies such as Ei AG are faced with the challenge of producing as little waste as possible for ecological and economic reasons. Realistic forecasts for one year are a basic requirement in order to be able to coordinate all incoming and outgoing goods more precisely. This was previously difficult and imprecise because orders were noted down by telephone or entered in Excel files and not all data was up-to-date or available.
Our solution
We have networked the value chain with the performis business software framework: from hatcheries and pullet breeders to egg and packaging suppliers, wholesalers and retailers. We have supplemented standard ERP functions such as purchasing, materials management, sales, invoicing, financial accounting, accounting and payroll accounting. These include an extended sales process, planning software with Power BI, EDI interfaces and a scanner solution for logistics.
Your benefit
Ei AG plans its orders a year in advance. Based on the forecast, the sorting company calculates how many pullets are ordered and how many hens have to lay how many eggs, depending on the laying curve and quality in the henhouse. Thanks to performis, Ei AG increases its forecasting quality and avoids rejects. The new scanning solution simplifies and accelerates regular incoming goods and weekly outgoing goods and improves transparency in administration and logistics.
